Instructions

- Make the compote: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped apples and sugar; cook for about 5–7 minutes until soft. Optionally add vanilla or cinnamon.
- Roll out the dough: Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll chilled dough into a circle about 3 mm thick and fit it into a tart pan.
- Assemble the tart: Spread apple compote on the crust, arrange sliced apples on top, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle additional sugar if desired.
- Bake: Bake for approximately 35–40 minutes or until golden brown.
