  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g butter (salted)
  • 800 g powdered sugar (icing sugar)
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk (if necessary)
  • Electric green food coloring
  • 250 g orange fondant
  • 200 g black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease your baking pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix self-raising flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter until smooth; gradually add eggs while mixing.
  4. Combine dry and wet ingredients along with milk and vanilla; mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool.
  6. For the buttercream, beat butter until fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and food coloring.
  7. Once cooled, crumble the cake into jars, layering it with buttercream until full.
  8. Decorate with fondant legs and sprinkles.
